Restoring an Edit Session

Contents  Previous  Next

When Boxer is closed it records a wide variety of information about the current edit session.  This information includes:

Names of open files
Cursor position in each file
Bookmark locations
Window positions, sizes and splits
Text selection mode
Word Wrap mode
Read-only mode
Hex mode
Edit mode

If Boxer is later restarted without being given a filename to edit, it will automatically restore the last edit session.  All of the files from the previous session will be restored, as well as the cursor position within each file.

bm2Restoration of the previous session can be disabled with the Always start with a new file (when no files are name) option, found on the Configure | Preferences | Other dialog page.

bm1If you would like to be able to open other file groups quickly, see the New Project topic for information about that feature.
